Phyllis Nieland

Phyllis S. Nieland, age 93, of Monee, passed away on Friday, December 3, 2021 at her home.

She was born on July 24, 1928, the daughter of Hamden and Emma Warner.  Phyllis was a member of St. Paul’s United Church of Christ in Monee.  She worked as the school secretary at Monee Elementary School for several decades.  She served on the Village of Monee’s Planning and Zoning Commission and was an active member of Eastern Will County Senior Services.

She is survived by her son and daughter-in-law, Carl and Hollie Nieland of Monee; her daughter and son-in-law, Althea and Brian Schoenrock of Monee; her grandchildren, Jenna (Sean) Dwyer, Kyle (Lisa) Nieland, Dan Nieland, Dr. Philip (Dr. Archana) Schoenrock, and Carla Schoenrock; and her great-grandchildren, Emily, Elayna, Evelyn, and Maya.  She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Orlando Nieland (February 13, 2011); 3 sisters, Althea, Rogene, and Margaret; and a brother, Emmitt.

Cremation rites have been accorded.  A celebration of her life will be held at St. Paul’s United Church of Christ in Monee on a later date to be announced.  Memorials in her name may be directed to St. Paul’s United Church of Christ.  Sign the guestbook at www.feddehelfrichcrossfh.com
