Maureen E. Herman, age 75, of Clifton; formerly of Chicago and Tinley Park; passed away on Thursday, January 6, 2022 at her home.
She was born on August 16, 1946 in Chicago, the daughter of Maurice W. and Eva K. (Davis) Lee. Maureen enjoyed yard work, gardening, and camping. She especially enjoyed spending summers with her family at the family cottage in Michigan. She worked for the Cook County Public Defender’s Office at 26th and California as a legal secretary for many years until leaving the office in 1988. The family wants to make special mention and thank you to Maureen’s son, Ray Herman, for all the loving care he provided to her.
She is survived by her children; John R. (Brenda) Herman, Eva (William) Edgeworth, Kevin W. (Michelle) Herman, Dennis (Chris) Herman, and Ray Herman; her grandchildren, Robert, Joseph, Eric, Brett, Sean, Katie, Kevin, Conor, Bridget, Daniel, and Emily; her great-grandchildren, Kylee, Stanley, Charlotte, Wendy, and Genny; her sister-in-law, Debbie Lee; and numerous nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, John L. Herman; her son, Robert E. Herman; her twin-brother, Robert E. Lee; her grandson, John L. Herman II; and her significant other, Albert Casiello.
Visitation will be held at the Fedde-Helfrich-Cross Funeral Home on Sunday, January 9, 2022 from 2:00 p.m.-6:00 p.m. with a prayer service being held at 6:00 p.m.
