Marceline "Marcy" Carr

March 28, 1933 — December 31, 2019

Marceline Margaret “Marcy” Wehe Carr

Marcy Carr was born on March 28, 1933 in Loyal, Clark County, Wisconsin, the oldest child of John and Martha (Ampe) Wehe.  She died on peacefully December 31st, 2019 in Kankakee, IL.  Marcy spent her early childhood with her parents and siblings on the farm attending Pleasant View School and St. Anthony’s Catholic School until the tragic death of her mother in 1946.  She left school at the age of 13 to help her father care for her five siblings – Albert, Mary Ann, Helen, Andrea and Raymond.  Marcy was a big help to her father, John, not only with the younger children, but also in the barn with her brother Albert; milking cows, cleaning the barn and working in the fields.  Later she moved to the Chicago area to work for families doing housework and then to Milwaukee where she attained her GED and attended Milwaukee Institute of Technology while living with siblings and cousins.  Sometime after that she met Charles “Chuck” Carr while doing bookkeeping for the Robert Hall Store in Milwaukee.  Chuck proposed to Marcy and they married in 1966 and lived in Kankakee, IL.  In 1967 Marcy and Chuck moved to Richton Park, IL where Marcy lived until after Chucks death in 2005.  Their two daughters, Kelly and Kristin where born there.  Marcy was a very involved mother – helping with the Brownies and Girl Scouts and teaching CCD at St. Irenaeus Church.  As her daughters grew up, she went back to work including a time at Office Max.

The joy of her life was when she became a grandmother.  Spending time with Ryan, Kaylee, Cameron, Collin, Caitlyn and Cassidy was what Marcy loved to do the most.  Helping them with their homework, making Halloween Costumes, making cookies, and just being with them was what she really loved.  They were a special blessing to her as she declined with Alzheimer’s, taking care of her.

For many years Marcy looked forward to the Annual Sisters Weekend at Maiden Lake, WI with her three sisters.  It was a special time just to be together.  Marcy had many talents.  She served on the Arts and Environment Committee at St. Irenaeus in Richton Park, IL.  She was a talented seamstress, especially making costumes for her daughters and grandchildren.  Her sister-in-law, Peggy Wehe, especially cherishes a quilt Marcy made for her for Peggy’s 60th birthday.  Marcy was an avid gardener – her flower gardens where a wonder to behold.  She was an active member of the local Garden Club.  Every year she looked forward to picking blueberries in Indiana often talking others in to joining her.

Family was everything to Marcy.  That is reflected in the care she has received from her family, especially her daughter Kelly and Kelly’s husband, Cory, and their three children; Collin, Caitlyn and Cassidy.

Marcy is survived by her daughters Kelly Carr Novak, husband Cory Novak; daughter Kristen Carr Hartsfield; grandchildren, Ryan Hartsfield, Kaylee Hartfield, Collin Novak, Caitlyn Novak, Cameron Hartsfield and Cassidy Novak; siblings Mary Ann Meysembourg (Milwaukee WI), Albert Wehe wife Peggy Wehe (Kingwood TX), Helen Olson Wehe Olson, husband Norbert Olson, (Franklin WI), Andy Wehe Weyer (Loyal WI), and Raymond Wehe, wife Sandy, (Stetsonville, WI) and numerous nieces and nephews and cousins.
