Kathryn L. Clemens, age 86, of Peotone, passed away on Thursday, August 27, 2020 at Riverside Medical Center in Kankakee, IL.
She was born on March 4, 1934 in Paulding, OH, the daughter of Roy and Marie (Boroff) Rhoad. She married Gordon Clemens on January 26, 1952 in Latty, OH. He preceded her in death on November 21, 2001. She was retired from Bennett Industries in Peotone where she worked for over 40 years. She was a member of the Peotone United Methodist Church and the Peotone American Legion Auxiliary. Katie was an active volunteer with Misericordia Heart of Mercy, Wounded Warriors, and Adopt A Soldier. She also volunteered at Riverside Medical Center along with her dog, Muffie, in the hospital’s pet therapy program. She especially loved spending time with her family and attending all of her grandchildren’s activities.
She is survived by two daughters and sons-in-law, Karen (Greg) Dralle of Bourbonnais and Kathy (Brian) Daney of Peotone; her grandchildren, Jeff Dralle, Dan (Kristina) Dralle, Kevin (Katie) Dralle, Gregory Jr. (Heather) Dralle, Brittany (Brian) Pena, and Brandon (Krystina) Daney; her great-grandchildren, Daniel (Jasmine), Danny, Alyssa, Ethan, Gabriella, and Charlotte Dralle; Olivia, Emma, and Mila Pena; and Kamryn Master Daney; a great-great granddaughter, `Elie; a sister, Helen; her dog, Rockie; and numerous nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband; her son, Ricky Clemens (October 20, 1988), a brother, Larry; 2 sisters, Priscilla and Erma; and a great-grandson, Brian Pena, Jr.
Visitation will be held at the Fedde-Helfrich-Cross Funeral Home on Sunday, August 30, 2020 from 1:00 p.m.-4:00 p.m. with a funeral service being held at 4:00 p.m., Rev. Richard Young officiating. The funeral service will be live streamed on the Fedde-Helfrich-Cross Funeral Home Facebook page. Due to the global health pandemic (COVID-19) the wearing of a face covering will be required to enter the funeral home and social distancing must be observed. Burial will take place at Peotone Cemetery on Monday, August 31, 2020 at 11:00 a.m. In lieu of flowers, memorials to Misericordia Heart of Mercy where her oldest grandson resides, 6300 N. Ridge Ave., Chicago, IL, 60660 or the family’s wishes would be appreciated.
