Helen Metke

Helen Metke, age 57, of Manteno, passed away on Thursday, October 8, 2020 at Franciscan St. James Hospital in Olympia Fields, IL.

She was born on March 25, 1963 in Harvey, IL.  She worked as an in home caregiver with Visiting Angels.  She was an active member of Sauk Trail Baptist Temple of Richton Park, IL where she taught Sunday School, sang in the choir, and served as a bus aide.  She continued helping others following her death by being a donor through Gift of Hope.

Helen is survived by her mother, LaVerne Low of Peoria; her siblings, Renee (Stephen) Knickrehm of Beecher, Eric (Kathy) Metke of Wilmington, Karl (Lori) Metke of Piper City, and Shawn Metke of Peoria, and her nieces and nephews, Nichole Grindler, Anthony (Keirston) Grindler, Steven Doig, Kyle Metke, Kaleb Metke, Chase Metke, Connor Metke, Amanda Metke, and Samantha Metke.  She was preceded in death by her father, Gary A. Metke on May 5, 2019.

Cremation rites have been accorded.  A memorial service will be held at the Sauk Trail Baptist Temple, 4411 Sauk Trail, Richton Park, IL on Thursday, October 15 at 5:00 p.m.
