Carolyn Lee Fowler, age 89, of Peotone, passed away on Monday, October 26, 2020 at Riverside Senior Living in Bourbonnais, IL.
She was born on January 29, 1931 in Danville, IL, the daughter of Ed and Mildred (Hight) Schooley. Carolyn enjoyed being with people. She sold real estate in the south suburbs for many years. She later became interested in antiques and owned and operated House On A Hill antique shop in Crete. She was a creative person who enjoyed gardening, sewing, quilting, and making machine embroidery. She embraced learning new things even in retirement. She was a caring person and a loving wife, mother, and grandmother to her family and to her beloved pet cats.
She is survived by her children; Lynn (William) Sterud of Madison, WI, Steven Wynn Fowler of Manteno, IL, Scott Louis (Diana) Fowler of Moses Lake, WA, and Edward Matthew Fowler of Manteno, IL; her grandchildren, Darren Sterud, Jacob Fowler, and Noelle (Wes) Watkins; and a great-granddaughter, Mariana. She was preceded in death by her parents and her husband, Edward Bert Fowler on May 19, 2009.
A public visitation will be held at the Fedde-Helfrich-Cross Funeral Home on Sunday, November 8 from 2:00 p.m.-4:00 p.m. with a funeral service being held at 4:00 p.m. Due to the global health pandemic (COVID-19) the wearing of a face covering will be required to enter the funeral home and social distancing must be observed. The funeral service will be live-streamed on the Fedde-Helfrich-Cross Funeral Home Facebook page. Burial will be at Abraham Lincoln National Cemetery in Elwood, IL. Memorials in her name may be directed to the Alzheimer’s Association, Uplifted Care Hospice, or Riverside Senior Living.
