Adeline D. Scott, age 94, of Peotone, passed away on Saturday, October 10, 2020 at Beecher Manor Nursing and Rehabilitation Center in Beecher, IL.
She was born on March 2, 1926 in Peotone, the daughter of Evan and Susan (Mueller) Lewis. She was a lifetime member of the First Presbyterian Church in Peotone. Adeline loved to paint and craft and was an avid Chicago Cubs fan. She especially loved her cat, Angel.
She is survived by three children; Roger (Karen) Cann of Normal, IL, Wayne (Joan) Cann of Peotone, IL, and Debbie (Mark) Girling of Manteno, IL; eight grandchildren, Rachel Buckner, Kristin (Tony) Hupp, Monica (Aaron) Means, Megan (Jonathan) Cross, John (Ashley) Cann, Elizabeth (Tom) Hallberg, Rebecca (David) Quimby, Caitlin Cann; and eight great-grandchildren, Ryland, Spencer, Quinn, Zoe, Lyla, Parker, Harper, and Finn. She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, James Scott; her son, Richard E. Cann; three brothers, Willis, Leo, and Howard Lewis; and six half-sisters, Margaret, Lillian, Alice, Etta, Eloise, and Harriet.
Visitation will be held at the Fedde-Helfrich-Cross Funeral Home on Wednesday, October 14 from 11:00 a.m.-12:00 p.m. with a funeral service being held at 12:00 p.m., Rev. Alex Regets officiating. The funeral service will be live-streamed on the Fedde-Helfrich-Cross Funeral Home Facebook page. Due to the global health pandemic (COVID-19) the wearing of a face covering will be required to enter the funeral home and social distancing must be observed. Interment will take place at Skyline Memorial Park in Monee, IL. Memorials may be directed to the family’s wishes.
