Warren D. Pool Jr., age 89, of Peotone, passed away on Thursday, February 12, 2015 at Riverside Medical Center in Kankakee, IL.
He was born June 6, 1925 in Goldsberry, MO, the son of the late Warren D. Pool Sr. and Lula (Ratliff) Pool-Hill. Warren was a World War II Army Veteran serving as a gunner’s mate during WW II and then with the Military Police in Germany post World War II. He was a member of the VFW in Dolton, IL and of St. Paul the Apostle Catholic Church in Peotone. He loved to golf, fish, bowl, cook for his family, and dance with his bride of 66 years. He also loved to travel, but most of all spend time with his family. He was a retired car salesman retiring from Jack Brown Buick in Chicago Heights, IL.
Warren is survived by his wife of 66 years, Joan (Lovison) Pool who he married on February 14, 1949 in Chicago. He is also survived by four children; Denise Joslyn of San Pedro, CA, Pam (Dennis) Tattersall of Peotone, Donna (Tommy) Rauch Lanford of Spartanburg, SC, and Daniel Pool of Bourbonnais. He is also survived by fourteen grandchildren; Douglas III, Domonique, and Desiree Joslyn; Todd, Melissa, and Leah Domagalla and Keri (Mike) Nicotra; Mike (Nicki), Dustin (Juli), and Kathleen Tattersall; Jeffrey and Andrea Rauch; and Danielle and Ryan Pool; six great-grandchildren; and a brother, Waldo M. Pool of Frankfort, IL.
He was preceded in death by his parents; a daughter, Lisa J. Domagalla (12-11-2009); a son-in-law, Gary L. Domagalla (9-27-1994); a great-grandson, Kyle Lawrence Bogart Domagalla; step-father, W. Dennison Hill; two infant sisters, Doris Jean and Mary Elaine; and a sister-in-law, Joyce Elaine Pool.
Visitation will be held at the Fedde-Helfrich-Cross Funeral Home on Sunday, February 15 from 3:00-6:00 p.m. Funeral mass will be held at St. Paul the Apostle Catholic Church in Peotone on Monday, February 16 at 11:00 a.m., Father Roger Kutzner officiating. There will be visitation at the church from 10:00-11:00 a.m. prior to mass. Interment will be at Peotone Cemetery. Memorials to the Family’s Wishes would be appreciated. Pallbearers will be Daniel Pool, Todd Domagalla, Michael Tattersall, Dustin Tattersall, Jeffrey Rauch and Ryan Pool. Honorary pallbearers will be Waldo Pool and Douglas Joslyn III.
