Rosemary Barton

Rosemary L. Barton, age 81, of Poway, CA, formerly of Peotone, passed away Sunday, November 2, 2014 at her home in Poway, CA.

She was born on February 15, 1933 in Kankakee, IL, the daughter of the late David and Myrtle (Bastien) Jones. She was a homemaker.

She is survived by her husband of 60 years, William B. Barton of Poway, CA who she married on October 30, 1954 in Kankakee. She is also survived by her daughter, Lisa Barton (Dan) Fitzpatrick of Reno, NV; her son, Danny (Brandy) Ronek of Imperial, CA; 7 grandchildren, Aisling and Keara Fitzpatrick and Chloe, Emma, Allison, Brandan, and Mylee Ronek; a sister, Darlene Jones (Michael) Novak of Florida; a brother, Jerry (Claudia) Jones of Florida; and numerous nieces and nephews.

Rosemary was of the Catholic faith. She enjoyed playing golf, traveling, gardening, reading, and being with her family. She was just a joyous person to be around. Her home was always open to all of her family and friends. Her kindness, sense of humor, and amazing spirit will be greatly missed.

Visitation will be held at the Fedde-Helfrich-Cross Funeral Home in Peotone on Friday, November 7 from 4:00-8:00 p.m. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at St. Rose of Lima Parish, 486 W. Merchant St., Kankakee, IL on Saturday, November 8 at 12:00 p.m., Father Bob Duda officiating. Burial will be at Peotone Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, memorials to Gentiva Hospice would be appreciated.
