Peter Soda
July 16, 1933 — June 26, 2013
Peter A. Soda Sr., 79, of Peotone, passed away Wednesday, June 26, 2013 at Rush Horizon Hospice in Chicago. He was born July 16, 1933 in Chicago, the son of the late Nicholas and Lena (Donagela) Soda. He was a millwright at Acme Steel in Riverdale. He was a United States Air Force Veteran. He enjoyed photography and especially collecting cameras.
He is survived by 3 children, Mary Ann (Michael) Papandrea of Frankfort, Paul Allen (Christine) Soda of Custer Park, and Scott (Marjorie) Soda of Wilmington; 8 grandchildren, Jeff Schaeffer, Melanie, Michelle, and Joseph Papandrea, Kevin and Cory Soda, and Michael and Susan Soda.
Mr. Soda was preceded in death by his parents; his wife, Edna Y. (Key) Soda (4-20-1990); a son, Peter A. Soda Jr. (12-16-1985); and a sister, Jessie.
Visitation will be held on Sunday, June 30, 2013 from 4:00-8:00 p.m. at the Fedde-Helfrich-Cross Funeral Home. Funeral services will be held at the funeral home on Monday, July 1, 2013 at 11:00 a.m., Deacon James Kelly officiating. Interment will be at Holy Sepulchre Catholic Cemetery in Worth, IL. Memorials to the Rush Horizon Hospice would be appreciated.
