Peggy J. Eggert

Peggy J. Eggert, age 83, of Peotone, passed away on Tuesday, April 28, 2026, at Miller Healthcare Center in Kankakee.

She was born on November 28, 1942, in Bluffs, IL, the daughter of Charles and Grace (Lieb) Spaenhower. She married Wayne Eggert on October 5, 1963, in Kankakee, IL. Wayne passed away on September 5, 2003. Peggy worked at Dralle Chevrolet and Buick in Peotone for over 30 years as a new car specialist. She was an avid reader and enjoyed going to craft and antique shows. She attended Immanuel United Church of Christ in Peotone.

Peggy is survived by her son, Douglas (fiancé Lori) Eggert; her grandchildren, David (Katie) Eggert and Catheey (Christian) Torres; her sister, Della Spaenhower; and her faithful dog, Jonnie. She was preceded in death by her parents, Charles and Grace Spaenhower and her husband, Wayne Eggert.

Visitation will be held at Fedde-Helfrich-Cross Funeral Home on Sunday, May 3, 2026, from 1:00 p.m.-4:00 p.m. with a funeral service at 4:00 p.m., Rev. Terry Krouskoupf officiating.
