Paul Froehner

Paul Alvin Froehner, 63, of rural Peotone, died Thursday, August 8, 2013 at his home. He was born April 16, 1950 in Joliet, IL, the son of the late Lloyd A. Froehner (Feb. 8, 2013) and Doris E. (Sjo) Froehner (Aug. 19, 2009). He was a retired farmer and carpenter. He was a member of the Immanuel United Church of Christ in Peotone, a member and past commander of the Peotone American Legion Post 392, and past commander of the Will County American Legion.

Visitation will be held on Monday, August 12 from 3:00-8:00 p.m. at the Fedde-Helfrich-Cross Funeral Home. Funeral services will be held on Tuesday, August 13 at 10:00 a.m. from the funeral home. Rev. John Billow and Nancy Wheeler will officiate. Burial will take place at St. Paul Lutheran Cemetery in Flossmoor, IL. In lieu of flowers, memorials to the Plassmann Scholarship Fund of Immanuel United Church of Christ, Peotone American Legion Post 392, or Hospice of Kankakee Valley would be appreciated.

He is survived by his wife, LaVerne (Bruns) Froehner, who he married on March 4, 1978 at St. Paul Lutheran Church in Chicago Heights, IL. He is also survived by 3 sons; Jason A. (Sarah) Froehner of Huntley, IL, James W. (Nikki) Froehner of Springfield, IL, and John E. (Megan) Froehner of Manteno, IL; a granddaughter, Jillian A. Froehner; a sister, Lynn (Duane) Temme of Peotone; and a sister-in-law, Donna Froehner of Peotone.

He was preceded in death by his parents and his brother, Ralph L. Froehner (July 11, 2008).
