Patricia Tanikawa

Patricia Ann Tanikawa, age 60, of Peotone, passed away on Saturday, July 19, 2014 at Ingalls Memorial Hospital in Harvey, IL.
Visitation will be held at the Fedde-Helfrich-Cross Funeral Home in Peotone on Thursday, July 24, 2014 from 4:00-7:00 p.m. A funeral service will be held on Thursday, July 24 at 7:00 p.m. at the funeral home. Cremation rites will be accorded following services. In lieu of flowers, memorials to the Peotone Public Library would be appreciated.
Patricia was born on September 5, 1953 in Harvey, IL, the daughter of the late James and Grace (Luke) McCarty. She formerly worked at the Peotone Public Library. She enjoyed playing bingo, quilting, and having lunch with her friends. She took special joy in spending time with her granddaughter, Maddy, and was excited and especially joyful while waiting for the birth of her second granddaughter.
She is survived by her husband, Tatsuhiko Tanikawa, of Peotone, who she married on February 28, 1982 . She is also survived by 2 children, Mike Tanikawa of Matteson, IL and Mika (Daniel) Munger of Clarsville, TN; a granddaughter, Madilyn Munger; a sister, Sue McCarty of Augusta, GA; and close family members, Gerald and Chereline McCarty.
