Orvill Wehrmann

Orvill Wehrmann, age 96, of Chicago Heights, formerly of Manteno and Beecher, passed away on Friday, February 10, 2017 at Franciscan St. James Hospital-Vitas Hospice in Chicago Heights.

Visitation will be held at Fedde-Helfrich-Cross Funeral Home on Monday, February 13 from 3:00-8:00 p.m.  Funeral services will be held at the Fedde-Helfrich-Cross Funeral Home on Tuesday, February 14 at 11:00 a.m., Nancy Wheeler officiating.

Interment will be in St. John’s United Church of Christ Cemetery in Beecher.  Memorials to the family would be appreciated.  Pallbearers will be Joseph Bova, Darrin Beckmann, David Michael Wehrmann, Joe Bova, Russell Pape and Arcadio Desiderio.

Mr. Wehrmann was born on November 18, 1920 in Beecher, the son of the late Fred and Emma (Batterman) Wehrmann.  He was a member of Immanuel United Church of Christ in Peotone and was a retired farmer.

Surviving are his two children; David (Janet) Wehrmann of Peotone and Peggy (Joe) Bova of Chicago Heights; five grandchildren, Jody (Arcadio), David Michael (Ashley), Joe, Melissa, and Rebecca; nine great-grandchildren, Taylor, Austin, Mason, Van, Nate, Giovanni, Isabella, Logan, and Elliana; and one sister-in-law, Rosella Wehrmann.

He was preceded in death by his parents; his wife, Luella (Buchmeier) Wehrmann who he married on January 10, 1942; and three brothers, Gilbert, Lester, and Lawrence.
