Mary Claire Gorman

July 8, 1925 — February 3, 2017

Mary Claire Gorman of Peotone passed away on Friday, February 3, 2017 at Riverside Medical Center in Kankakee, IL.

She was born on July 8, 1925 in Chicago, the daughter of the late Edward and Mary Estelle Dohney.

She married the late Patrick Gorman on November 5, 1955 in Chicago.  He preceded her in death on December 20, 2003.

She was a loving and caring wife and mother.  She was a member of St. Paul the Apostle Catholic Church in Peotone and a member of the CCW.

She graduated from Mount Mary College in Milwaukee, WI.  She was past President of the Jr. Women’s Club, board member of Cancer Research of Homewood, board member of the “Christ Child” of Chicago, and a member of the Peotone American Legion Auxiliary.

Surviving are her children; Dennis Gorman of Peotone, Pamela (Craig) Carlson of Chicago, and Shaun (Diane) Gorman of Grant Park; grandchildren, Grant and Trent Carlson, and Tyler and Grace Gorman; brother-in-law, Hugh Gorman of Virginia Beach, VA; a sister-in-law, Patricia Gorman of Edina, MN; and numerous nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her sister and brother-in-law, Julia and Jack Leahy; a sister-in-law, Irene Gorman; and a brother-in-law, Jack Gorman.

Visitation will be held at St. Paul the Apostle Catholic Church, 511 N. Conrad St. Peotone, on Monday, February 6 from 9:00 a.m.-11:00 a.m.  A funeral mass will be held at St. Paul the Apostle Catholic Church on Monday, February 6 at 11:00 a.m., Father Denis White and Father Roger Kutzner officiating.  Burial will be at Peotone Cemetery.  Memorials to St. Paul the Apostle Catholic Church or the family’s wishes would be appreciated.  Sign the guestbook at www.feddehelfrichcrossfh.com
