Mary Lou Bucher

     Mary Lou Bucher, age 81, of Bourbonnais, formerly of Mokena, passed away on Monday, May 8, 2023, at Riverside Miller Healthcare in Kankakee. 

     She was born on January 9, 1942, in Chicago, the daughter of William and Catherine (Frank) Braun.  She married Raymond Bucher on June 15, 1963, in Chicago.  He passed away on February 11, 1989.  She worked for a short time at St. Francis Woods Convent but spent most of her time caring for her family.  She was an avid Chicago Cubs fan and enjoyed watching their games.  She was a member of St. George Catholic Church in Bourbonnais and a member of the Frankfort and Bourbonnais Senior Clubs.

     She is survived by 2 sons and daughters-in-law, Phillip and Cindy Bucher of Jackson, MO and William and Debbie Bucher of Mokena; a daughter and son-in-law, Susan and Carl Erickson of Bourbonnais; her grandchildren, Hillary Tudor, Raymond (Ashley) Bucher, Andrew (Chelsea) Bucher, Ethan Bucher, Stevie, Melanie Erickson, and Sydney Erickson; 9 great-grandchildren; 2 brothers, James (Roseann) Braun of Mokena and Robert Braun of New York; 3 sisters-in-law, Carol Braun of Oak Lawn, Coonie Essnner of Missouri, and Zita Nenninger of Missouri; and numerous nieces and nephews.  She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband; a brother, William Braun; and a sister-in-law, Mary Ellen Braun.

     Visitation will be held at the Fedde-Helfrich-Cross Funeral Home, 112 W. Main St., Peotone, IL on Friday, May 12, 2023, from 3:00 p.m.-8:00 p.m.  A funeral mass will be celebrated at St. George Catholic Church, 5272 5000 N. Rd., Bourbonnais, IL, on Saturday, May 13, 2023, at 10:00 a.m., Father Daniel Belanger officiating.  Cremation rites will be accorded following services and inurnment will take place at St. Mary’s Cemetery in Mokena on a later date.  Memorials may be directed to the wishes of the family.  Share a memory at www.feddehelfrichcrossfh.com
