Mark L. Buchmeier

Mark L. Buchmeier, age 73, of Manteno, IL, formerly of Peotone, IL, passed away unexpectedly on Tuesday, July 1, 2025, at Porter Place Memory Care in Tinley Park, IL

He was born on November 3, 1951, in Chicago Heights, IL, the son of Louis and Naomi (Schroeder) Buchmeier. He married Penny Etchison on August 3, 1990, in Crete, IL. Mark retired from Bimba Manufacturing in Monee, IL, after working there for 30 years. He enjoyed doing yard work and was known to his neighbors for his pristine lawn. Mark was a car and motorcycle enthusiast. He enjoyed driving his Corvette only when the sun was shining and took numerous cross-country trips on his Gold Wing motorcycle.

He is survived by his wife, Penny (Etchison) Buchmeier; his children, Rachel (David Dudzinski) Teneyuca, Michelle (Charles) Sheldon, Brianne (Adam) Hetman, Jaime (Timothy Shampane) Schultz, and Derek (Brandy) Buchmeier; his grandchildren, Jessica Boersma, Alec Urbanski, Angelina Schultz, Gwen Schultz, Hannah Tyler, Cadence Hetman, Makayla Buchmeier, Lucas Hetman, and Adeline Buchmeier; 2 great-grandchildren, Luna and Sora Urbanski; a brother and sister-in-law, Monte and LaVerne Buchmeier; his support dog, Tuesday, and several nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents, Louis and Naomi Buchmeier; a brother and sister-in-law, Ronald and Winann Buchmeier; and a grandson, Sean Connell.

Visitation will be held at Fedde-Helfrich-Cross Funeral Home on Tuesday, July 8, 2025, from 3:00 p.m.-7:00 p.m. with a funeral service being held at 7:00 p.m. Cremation rites will be accorded following all services.
