Marjorie L. Hack

      Marjorie L. Hack, age 94, of Rural Peotone, passed away on Thursday, May 4, 2023, at her home.

     She was born on August 31, 1928, in Peotone, IL, the daughter of Walter and Gladys (Krohn) Schroeder.  Marjorie graduated from Grant Park High School in Grant Park, IL.  She married Ronald J. Hack on January 16, 1949, at Immanuel United Church of Christ in Peotone.  He passed away on September 9, 2014.  Marjorie was a member of Immanuel United Church of Christ and very active in the Women’s Fellowship.  She enjoyed fishing in Minnesota every year with her family and friends, cooking, baking, and traveling. 

     She is survived by her daughter, Kathleen Shanahan of Sister Bay, WI; her son and daughter-in-law, John and Denise Hack of Peotone; 6 grandchildren, Paul Hack, Kevin (Pamela) Hack, Jared (Melissa) Hack, Jaclyn (Michael Jr.) Cain, Donald (Thanh) Shanahan, and Michael Shanahan; 10 great-grandchildren, Peyton, Austin, Tucker, Teagahn, Oliver, Owen, Caitlyn, Marjorie, Samuel, and Brooklyn; her sister, Joan Oliver; and several nieces and nephews.  She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband; 2 grandchildren, Samantha and Dylan Cain; her sister and brother-in-law, Elaine and LaVern Koehn; her brother-in-law, Clifford Oliver; and her brother-in-law and sister-in-law, Wallace and Betty Hack.

     Private family graveside services will be held at Peotone Cemetery, Nancy Wheeler officiating.  Memorials may be directed to Immanuel United Church of Christ.
