Marian Jenks
July 19, 1935 — December 8, 2014
Marian “Mitzie” Jenks, age 79, of Peotone, formerly of Chicago, Tinley Park, and Hazel Crest, passed away on Monday, December 8, 2014 at The Parc at Joliet Nursing and Rehab Center.
She was born July 19, 1935 in Chicago, the daughter of the late John Russell and Marion (Stenhouse) Scanlan. She was of the Baptist faith. She was a former executive secretary for Inland Steel Container and the Southwest Cooperative for Special Education. She was a member of the Eastern Star.
She is survived by her husband, Bob Jenks of Peotone who she married on January 19, 1970 in Catoosa County, Georgia. She is also survived by two children, Dustin R. Jenks of Delevan, WI and Debra Marie (Todd) Haskell of Bradley, IL; and three grandchildren, Jacob, Joshua, and Joseph Haskell. She was preceded in death by her parents and a brother, Daniel R. Scanlan.
Visitation will be held at the Fedde-Helfrich-Cross Funeral Home on Friday, December 12 from 9:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m. Funeral services will be held at the funeral home on Friday, December 12 at 1:00 p.m., Rev. Jack L. Newberry officiating. Burial will take place at Abraham Lincoln National Cemetery in Elwood, IL. Memorials to the family’s wishes would be appreciated.
