Marian Dykstra

Marian Lee Dykstra, age 94, of Peotone, passed away on Friday, April 17, 2020 at Miller Health Care Center in Kankakee as a result of the COVID19 Pandemic.

She was born on April 13, 1926 in Harvey, the daughter of George and Georgia (Goosetree) Stoafer.  She worked as a cosmetician for Walgreens Drug Store for over 30 years at various location on the South Side.  She was a crossword puzzle junkie and was an avid collector of anything Snoopy accumulating over 150 pieces in her collection.

She is survived by her son, Joseph (Lynda) Dyksta of Antioch, IL; a sister-in-law, Pat Dykstra of Peotone; and numerous nieces and nephews.  She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, William Eric Dykstra; a daughter, Sharon Ricketts; 2 sisters, Sylvia Prather and Rose Gustafson; and a brother-in-law, Frank Dykstra.

Cremation rites have been accorded.  All services will be private.
