Lila M. Jacobs

Lila M. Jacobs, age 100, of Manteno, formerly of Peotone, passed away peacefully at her home on Friday, April 18, 2025.

She was born on August 21, 1924, in Peotone, the daughter of William and Erma (Behrens) Friedericks. She married Vernon W. Jacobs on September 18, 1943, in Monee, IL. He passed away on October 25, 1999.

Lila loved working on the family farm with her husband, Vernon. She enjoyed the outdoors, especially camping and snowmobiling, and traveling to Florida. She was a member of Immanuel United Church of Christ in Peotone.

She is survived by her cousin, Marjorie Rogers: numerous nieces and nephews, great-nieces and great-nephews, great-great nieces and great-great nephews, and a great-great-great niece with another on the way. She was preceded in death by 2 brothers, Emery and Orrin Friedericks.

Visitation will be held at the Fedde-Helfrich-Cross Funeral Home on Wednesday, April 23, 2025, from 10:00 a.m.-12:00 p.m. with a funeral service being held at 12:00 p.m., Rev. Terry Krouskoupf officiating. Interment will be at Skyline Memorial Park in Monee, IL. Memorials to the donor’s choice would be appreciated.
