Larry D. Grisham, age 83, of Manteno, IL, formerly of Peotone, IL, passed away on Sunday, July 19, 2026, at University of Chicago Medical Center.
He was born on April 17, 1943, in Eldorado, IL, the son of Willis D. and Halle (Leathers) Grisham. Larry married Nora G. Cook on December 22, 1964, in Eldorado, IL. He was a United States Army Veteran serving in Vietnam. He worked at the Ford Stamping Plant in Chicago Heights, IL for 47 years. He was a member of the Manteno American Legion and the Manteno Masonic Lodge #636. Larry enjoyed hunting, fishing and especially attending all his granddaughter’s events.
He is survived by his wife of 61 years, Nora G. Grisham; his daughter and son-in-law, Lori and Dave Easter; and his son and daughter-in-law, Tim and Amy Grisham all of Manteno, IL; his 3 granddaughters, Hayley Easter, Emily Grisham, and Kira (Wade) Long; and his brother and sister-in-law, Stanley and Mary Grisham. He was preceded in death by his parents, 1 sister, 2 brothers; and an infant daughter, Jodi.
Visitation will be held at Fedde-Helfrich-Cross Funeral Home on Saturday, July 25, 2026, from 10:00 a.m.-12:00 p.m. with funeral service being held at 12:00 p.m. Due to the scheduled car show downtown, Main Street will be closed on Saturday morning. Front door entrance may still be made by the sidewalk. Alternative parking will be available in the Christ Community Church parking lot behind the funeral home and entrance can be made through the back door. Military honors and committal service will be held at Abraham Lincoln National Cemetery in Elwood, IL, on Monday, July 27, 2026, at 10:30 a.m. In lieu of flowers memorials may be made to the Illinois Veteran’s Home in Manteno, IL.
