Kimberly A. Smith

Kim Smith, 68, passed away peacefully at her home early Wednesday morning, surrounded by her loving family.

Born on November 22, 1957, to Bill and Joyce Fitzpatrick, Kim grew up with a deep appreciation for family, kindness, and simple joys. She married her high school sweetheart, Joey Smith, on March 30, 1976, beginning a lifelong partnership filled with devotion and laughter.

Kim is survived by her husband Joey; their daughter Melissa Gleeson and her husband Chris, along with their three sons; and their son Joey Smith and his wife Serena, and their nine children. She is also survived by her mother Joyce Fitzpatrick; her brothers Bob Fitzpatrick (Jamie) and William Lee Fitzpatrick (Cindy); and her uncle Ron Stuart.

Kim cherished quiet mornings spent reading and discussing books with her daughter, a tradition that brought her great joy. She also adored her dog, Penelope, who was never far from her side.

Family, friends, and all whose lives were touched by Kim are invited to gather on Saturday, February 7th, from 1–4 p.m. at Fedde-Helfrich-Cross Funeral Home, 112 W. Main St., Peotone, IL, to grieve, share memories, support one another, and celebrate her life.
