Kenneth Edward Zeilstra

Kenneth Edward Zeilstra, age 68, of Monee, IL, passed away on Saturday, July 11, 2026, surrounded by the love of his family.

He was born on February 3, 1958, at Silver Cross Hospital to John and Ruth Zeilstra. Ken was the beloved husband of Cynthia Zeilstra, with whom he shared a life filled with love, laughter, and countless memories. He was a proud father to Samantha Guenette (Andrew Guenette) and Dr. Candice Wardrip (Allan Wardrip). Nothing brought him greater joy than being "Papa" to his cherished grandchildren, Makayla and Silas Guenette, and Landon and Hayden Wardrip, all of Kentucky.  He is also survived by his sister and brother-in-law, Audrey and Jim Pilbeam; and numerous nieces and nephews, all of whom he loved dearly.

Ken dedicated many years of service to the Will County Highway Department as a heavy equipment operator, where he was known for his strong work ethic and commitment to his community.

Outside of work, Ken found his greatest happiness in the outdoors. He loved fishing, camping, and spending time in nature. He was also an avid ham radio operator, enjoying the friendships and connections he made through the hobby. He never seemed to be without one or two loyal Labrador companions by his side. A talented photographer at heart, Ken was often the one behind the camera, preserving life's special moments so others could enjoy them for years to come.

Above all else, Ken loved his family. He will be remembered for his quiet strength, kind heart, unwavering love, and the many memories he created with those fortunate enough to know him. His legacy lives on through his family, the lessons he shared, and the countless moments he captured both in photographs and in the hearts of those he loved. He will be deeply missed and forever remembered.

Visitation will be held at Fedde-Helfrich-Cross Funeral Home on Thursday, July 16, 2026, from 3:00 p.m.-7:00 p.m. and funeral services will be held at 7:00 p.m. Interment will be private. Memorials may be made to the wishes of the family. Share a memory at www.feddehelfrichcrossfh.com
