Johnetta "Jackie" Marie Peters

Johnetta "Jackie" Marie Peters, age 74, of Peotone, IL, passed away suddenly on Monday, August 24, 2026, at Riverside Medical Center in Kankakee, IL.

She was born on July 3, 1952, in Chicago, IL, the daughter of William and Charlotte (Altieri) Quinlan. She was preceded in death by her husband, Arthur F. Peters. Jackie was well known in the community as the manager of Peotone’s Speedway gas station for many years. Jackie was a devout Christian, and she loved to cook and bake.

She is survived by her son, Adam A. Peters of Peotone, IL; her daughter, Jennifer N. May of Bourbonnais, IL; her 3 grandsons, Manuel May, Malakhi May, and Chauncey May; her brother and sister-in-law, Jim and Mary Kay Quinlan; and 2 sisters, Charlotte “Dolly” Peters and Kathleen Hewes. She was preceded in death by her parents, William and Charlotte Quinlan; her husband, Arthur F. Peters; 2 brothers, William and Chuck; and 3 sisters, Winifred, Mary, and Patricia.

Cremation rites have been accorded. A memorial visitation will be held at Fedde-Helfrich-Cross Funeral Home on Saturday, September 5, 2026, from 1:00 to 4:00 p.m. A Service of Remembrance will be held at 4:00 p.m. Memorials may be given to the wishes of the family
