John Reed

John L. Reed, age 70, of Wilton Center, passed away suddenly at home on Monday, January 8, 2018.
He was born on August 13, 1947. He was retired from Pactiv in Frankfort, IL. John was an avid Muskie fisherman and loved boating. He was a Chicago Bears fan and really enjoyed family gatherings.
He is survived by his; his wife, Brenda K. (Beggs) Reed of Wilton Center; his mother, June Schiess of Wisconsin; 2 children, Paul Burlingame of Beecher and Cynthia Burlingame of Homewood; a sister, Tracy Schiess of Montana; a brother, Ron (Debra) Reed of Florida; 2 nephews, Jim (Nicole) Reed of Missouri and Chuck (Melea) Reed of Tennessee; a niece, Amanda (David) Kilpatrick of Braidwood; numerous great-nieces and great-nephews; and his beloved horse, Gus. He was preceded in death by his father, John W. Reed and his step-father, George Schiess.
Cremation rites have been accorded and all services will be private. In lieu of flowers, memorials to the Humane Society would be appreciated.
