Joan M. Beganis, age 86, of Peotone, passed away on Sunday, October 16, 2016 at Presence St. Mary’s Hospital in Kankakee.
She was born in Chicago on May 16, 1930, the daughter of the late John and Marjorie (Maloy) Walsh. She was a homemaker and a member of St. Paul the Apostle Catholic Church in Peotone. Joan enjoyed collecting antiques and was a big fan of Elvis.
She is survived by her son, Joseph M. (Fran) Beganis of Watseka and a brother Bernard (Loraine) Walsh of Cicero. She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Leonard Beganis (1977), and her daughter, Joyce Ann Melton (June 24, 2014).
Cremation rites have been accorded. Private family services will be held.
