Jerome A. Stack

Jerome A. Stack, age 71, of Chebanse, IL, passed away on Monday, July 28, 2025,

at Illinois Veteran’s Home in Manteno, IL.

He was born on September 15, 1953, in Danville, IL, the son of the late Donald and Rita (Kramer) Stack. Jerome was a United States Marine Corp Vietnam era veteran and held the the rank of Sargeant. He worked as an elevator/escalator technician for Kone Elevator Company. He was a member of St. Paul Lutheran Church of Kankakee and enjoyed operating radio control airplanes.

Jerome is survived by his wife, Jeanne (nee Wolkow) Stack; 5 children, Melissa Wilhelm, Tricia (Dylan) Sloan, Christopher (Maureen) Stack, Scott Stack, and Noah (Haylee) Stack; 8 grandchildren, Brady, Jackson, Benjamin, Jessyka, Sofia, Anthony, Oliver, and Adeline; 5 great-grandchildren; a sister, Theresa Oldham; a brother, Thomas Stack; and numerous nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents and 9 adult siblings.

A memorial visitation will be held at St. Paul’s Lutheran Church, 348 E. Merchant St., Kankakee, IL, 60901, on Friday, September 26, 2025, from 9:00 a.m.-10:00 a.m. with a memorial service being held at 10:00 a.m. Interment services and military funeral honors will be held at Abraham Lincoln National Cemetery in Elwood, IL, at 12:30 p.m.
