Henry Vrabel

Henry G. "Hank" Vrabel, Age 53, of Drummond, WI, died Tuesday, October 15, 2013 at Memorial Medical Center in Ashland, WI. He was born November 2, 1959 in Chicago, IL, the son of Charles and Rita Vrabel. Hank graduated from Reavis High School in Burbank, Illinois. He then attended Moraine Valley Community College in Palos, Illinois where he met his wife, Lyn. Hank worked as a welder for the majority of his life, most recently at Columbia Forest Products in Mellen, WI. Hank was an active member in the 8th Illinois Calvary of the First Illinois Battalion, where he performed Civil War and Wild West Reenactments. He enjoyed fishing and simply being outdoors. His genuine love for nature was one of his greatest attributes. He is survived by two children, Scott Vrabel, of Peotone, IL, and Rebekah Vrabel, of Forest City, Iowa; two brothers, Charles and Larry; four sisters, Mary, Sherry, Angel and Dawn; and numerous nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents and his wife, Linda in 2011. A memorial visitation will be held at the Fedde-Helfrich-Cross Funeral Home in Peotone on Saturday, November 23 from 4:00-7:00 p.m.
