Gary Allen Love, 56 of Peotone, passed away Wednesday, April 22, 2015 at his home.
Visitation will be on Saturday, April 25 from 2:00-6:00 p.m. at Immanuel United Church of Christ, 311 West Corning Ave., Peotone, where he was a member his entire life. Funeral services will be on Saturday, April 25 at 6:00 p.m. at Immanuel United Church of Christ, Rev. Dwight Gorbold and Rev. John Billow officiating. Cremation rites will be accorded following services with inurnment in Peotone Cemetery at a later date. Donations can be made to the family’s wishes.
Gary was an elder of the church, Sunday School Superintendent, and a member of the choir. He graduated from Peotone High School 1976.
He was born on September 29, 1958 in Harvey, IL He is survived by his parents, Clyde and Patricia (Rehberg) Love. Gary married Susan Bold on August 7, 1989. They have 2 sons, Aaron and Dawn of Manhattan and Grant also of Manhattan, one daughter April and Geremy Adams of Peotone and 5 grand-children, Jared, Tyler, Kaylee, Logan and Posie Mae. One sister Lori and Joe Toepper of Manteno, and one brother Bob of Chicago.
He has numerous loving nieces, nephews, aunts, uncles and cousins.Gary was employed by the Peotone School District as Director of building and grounds. Prior to that Gary worked at Bimba Manufacturingbefore becoming the owner of Gary’s Home Improvements, where he wasa “jack of all trades”. He could fix anything and became a friend to everyperson who’s home he entered.
Gary was a true outdoorsman. He loved to hunt, fish, arrowhead hunt, bow hunt, sit around a campfire, camp, walk with his dog Ellie and brew his own beer. He took great pleasure in attending his grandchildren’s sporting events. A happier, more friendly person you will never meet. If you knew him, then you were his friend. He will be greatly missed by many, many people.
