Esther Ellen Eads, age 93, of Kankakee, formerly of Park Forest, passed away on Monday, March 8, 2021 at Presence Heritage Village in Kankakee.
She was born on December 27, 1927 in Akron, OH, the daughter of Raymond Anson and Louella (Phillips) Dobbins. Esther married James C. Eads on September 6, 1953. He preceded her in death on April 8, 2017. She worked at the Park Forest Library and was an avid reader, expert knitter, and enjoyed playing the piano and violin.
She is survived by her twin daughters, Karen (Quin) Shannon and Nancy (the late Thomas) Tucker; her grandsons, Jimmy (Ashley) Eads and Nicholas (Elizabeth) Shannon; her granddaughters, MacKenzee (the late Efren) Sardo and Katy (Mike) Warehime; her sister, Sara Brown; her nieces, Laura Newton and Carol Kessler; her nephew, Nathan Buck; and 4 great-grandchildren with another due in April. She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, James C. Eads; two sons, James R. (the late Nancy S.) and Michael W. Eads; her sister-in-law, Kathleen Swander; her son-in-law, Thomas Tucker and her grandson-in-law, Efren Sardo.
A memorial service will be held at the Fedde-Helfrich-Cross Funeral Home on Wednesday, March 24, 2021 at 3:00 p.m. Due to the global health pandemic (Covid-19) the wearing of a face covering will be required to enter the funeral home and social distancing must be observed.
