Edmond "Uncle Jimmy" Lang

September 18, 1927 — April 16, 2020

Edmond “Uncle Jimmy” C. Lang, age 92, passed away peacefully at Christ Hospital in Oak Lawn, IL on April 16th, 2020.  Uncle Jimmy was born to Golden and Lilly Lang and attended a one room schoolhouse in Tinley Park, IL then graduated from Orland Park High School in 1945.  Early in his life he was the Vice-President of Joliet Bank, then a Loan Officer at Continental Bank in Chicago, IL. where he retired from.    During that time, he lived at the Lang Farm on Rte. 45 and 175th Street in Tinley Park, IL then moved to Mokena, IL and then Park Forest, IL.

Uncle Jimmy was preceded in death by his parents, Golden and Lilly Lang, his brother Wilber (Marion) Lang, and sisters Ruth Lang, Mary Koester (Merrill), Lillie O’Barski (Clem), his nephew John Lang, and his great-niece, Lisa Panici.

Uncle Jimmy was a very kind, loving and giving man of his time and many talents to anyone who asked.  His personal touch on our homes are evident when you walk in and you see either draperies he made, furniture that had been reupholstered by him, or the beautiful quilts he created. He was a true master with a needle and thread. He was our historian with the great stories he handed down to us of times gone by, always with a smile on his face.  He so loved celebrating with his family and his family will always celebrate him.   He truly was one of a kind and will be missed greatly.

Cremation rites were accorded and will be interned at Cedar Park Cemetery in Calumet Park, IL at a later date.
