Donald A. Zugenbuehler, Sr.

Donald A. Zugenbuehler, Sr., age 95, of Manteno, IL, passed away on Sunday, March 29, 2026, at Riverside Medical Center in Kankakee, IL.

He was born on July 29, 1930, in Chicago, IL, the son of the late Henry and Catherine (Jacobi) Zugenbuehler. He married Rosemary Marcukaitis in 1960. She preceded him in death on June 28, 1975. Donald was a United States Army veteran serving in Korea and was a member of the Manteno American Legion Post 755. He worked as a truck driver for A & P Grocery for 36 years. He was an avid Chicago White Sox and Chicago Bears fan.

He is survived by his son and daughter-in-law, Andy and Lynn Zugenbuehler and 3 grandsons, Andrew Zugenbuehler, Cody Zugenbuehler, and Jacob Marcukaitis. He was preceded in death by his parents; his wife, Rosemary Zugenbuehler; 3 brothers, William Fanning, Clarence Zugenbuehler, and John Zugenbuehler; and 3 sisters, Norma Singer, Janet Maioriello, and Betty Busse.

Visitation will be held at Fedde-Helfrich-Cross Funeral Home on Friday, April 3, 2026, from 10:00 a.m. to 12:00 p.m. with military honors and funeral services held at 12:00 p.m. Burial will be at Peotone Cemetery. Memorials may be made to the wishes of the family.
