Donald E. Jones

Donald E. Jones, age 84, of Limestone Township, passed away on Monday, February 16, 2026, at his home surrounded by his loving family.

He was born on April 14, 1941, in Chicago, IL, the son of the late Otis and Marie (O’Daniel) Jones. He married Joyce Waldvogel on February 6, 1966, at Immanuel United Church of Christ in Peotone. Donald was a United States Army Veteran. He enjoyed fishing and loved spending time with his family, especially his grandchildren and great-grandchildren.

Donald is survived by his wife of 60 years, Joyce (Waldvogel) Jones; his daughter, Christine (the late Robbie) Allen; his son, Michael Jones; 6 grandchildren, Trevor (Jenna) Allen, Drew Allen, Meghan (Tyler) Howard, Jackson Harrington, Michael D. Jones, and Mason Jones; 4 great-grandchildren, Jackson, Jo, and Madi Allen and Faelynn Howard; a sister-in-law, Mary Jones; and numerous nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents; his son-in-law, Robbie Allen; 2 brothers, Robert Jones and Larry Jones; and 2 sisters, Lois Marti and Leann (Larry) McClain.

Visitation will be held at Fedde-Helfrich-Cross Funeral Home on Friday, February 20, 2026, from 4:00 p.m.-7:00 p.m. Funeral services will be held at Fedde-Helfrich-Cross Funeral Home on Saturday, February 21, 2026, at 11:00 a.m., Rev. Terry Krouskoupf officiating. Visitation will be held from 10:00 a.m.-11:00 a.m. prior to the funeral service. Burial with military honors will be at Peotone Cemetery.
