Charlotte I. McDermand

     Charlotte I. (Geuther) McDermand, age 94, of Andres, IL, passed away on Thursday, December 15, 2022, at her home.

     She was born on January 21, 1928, in Joliet, IL, the daughter of Raymond and Laura (Hansen) Geuther.  She married James S. McDermand on August 18, 1951, in Joliet, IL.  He preceded her in death on September 28, 2014.  Mrs. McDermand worked as a teacher for over 36 years retiring from Peotone Elementary School.  She loved to sew and was very proficient at the craft.  She loved animals, especially her cats, and donated much time to pet rescue.

     She is survived by her daughter, Tamra McDermand of Manhattan, IL; and her two granddaughters, Sydnee Rae and Mathilda Marie McDermand.  She was preceded in death by her parents and her husband.

     Graveside services will be held at Pleasant Hill Cemetery in Frankfort, IL on Monday, December 26, 2022 at 10:30 a.m., Rev. Terry Krouskoupf officiating.  Share a memory at www.feddehelfrichcrossfh.com
