On May 1, 2013, Chad Jeremy Cowger, 38, of Peotone, passed away very peacefully with his parents and brothers watching over after a 2 year battle with sarcoma cancer at MD Anderson Cancer Center in Houston, TX.

Chad was born April 17, 1975 to Dennis and Judy (Hameister) Cowger at Silver Cross Hospital in Joliet, IL.

He loved adventure, anything with 2 or 4 wheels, farming, his railroad job, family and friends. He loved life.

He worked as a conductor for the Canadian National Railroad out of Gilman, IL. He was a lifetime member of the NRA and a member of United Transportation Union.

He is survived by his parents; two brothers and sister-in-laws, Phillip and Tammy Cowger of Peotone and Nathan and Monica Cowger of Monee; 2 nephews and a niece, Dakota, Mykayla and Logan Cowger; Grandparents, Manrow Hameister and Edwyna Cowger; Aunts and Uncles, Bonnie and Glenn Ginder, Diane and Don Cravens, Denise and John Hack, Dale and Jeanne Cowger; and numerous cousins, neighbors and friends.

He was preceded in death by 2 grandparents, Anna Hameister and Darald “Roy” Cowger.

All services will be held at the Fedde-Helfrich-Cross Funeral Home in Peotone. Visitation will be on Monday, May 6 from 3:00-8:00 p.m. with a service of celebration of life on Tuesday, May 7 at 11:00 a.m., Rev. Bill

Riegle officiating. Burial will be at Peotone Cemetery. Memorials to the family’s wishes would be appreciated.
