Carol Radtke

Carol E. Radtke, age 80, of Peotone, passed away on Friday, September 18, 2015 at Riverside Medical Center in Kankakee.

She was born on July 18, 1935 in Evanston, IL, the daughter of the late Nicholas and Lucy (Savoy) Schneider. She married the late Donald J. Radtke on May 11, 1957 in Chicago Heights. He died on January 29, 2013. She was a homemaker and a former employee of Teresa Pizza in Peotone for over 35 years. She was an avid bingo player, enjoyed crocheting, and was a member of the Women’s Auxiliary of the Loyal Order of the Moose.

She is survived by seven children, James (Elizabeth) Radtke of Hopkins, SC, Donald (Susan) Radtke of Chapin, SC, Diane (Ted) Gerndt of LaGrange, GA, Nancy (Mike) Neiner of Manteno, IL, Mary Dugan-Bell of Manteno, IL, Lori (Robert) Anker of Grant Park, IL, and Lucy Radtke of Manteno, IL; thirteen grandchildren, Dan Radtke, Jami (Nathan) Christiansen, Hayden and Alton Radtke, Nick (Danielle) Gerndt, Jerry Gerndt, Jesica (Jake) Mahnke, Nicole Neiner, Kristy Dugan, Katie Bell, Ashley and Samuel Anker, and Dylan Radtke; five great-grandchildren, Brad and Aubri Christensen, Ella and Avery Gerndt, and Jaxon Mahnke; and a brother, Robert (the late Cookie) Schneider of Paxton, IL. She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband; two daughters, Susan and Carol; and two brothers, Charles (Janet) and Nicholas Schneider.

Visitation will be held on Sunday, September 20, 2015 at the Fedde-Helfrich-Cross Funeral Home from 2:00-7:00 p.m. Funeral services will be held at the Fedde-Helfrcich-Cross Funeral Home on Monday, September 21, 2015 at 11:00 a.m. Interment will be at Assumption Cemetery in Glenwood, IL. Memorials to the Family’s Wishes would be appreciated.
