Carl Schmidt

Carl B. Schmidt, age 75, of Spring Lake, MI, formerly of Monee, passed away on Thursday, May 3, 2018 at Spectrum Health Butterworth Hospital in Grand Rapids, MI.

He was born on November 11, 1942 in McAllen, TX, the son of the late Harry C. Sr. and Lucille (Veldkamp) Schmidt.  He was a self-employed businessman and truck driver and a U.S. Army Veteran.

He is survived by a son, Edwin (Elaine) Schmidt of Alabama; a daughter, Kimberly Schmidt of Michigan; 5 grandchildren; 5 great-grandchildren; a brother, Harry (Elsa) Schmidt Jr. of Danforth; a sister, Marilyn (the late Paul) Nagel of Peotone; and numerous nieces and nephews.

Visitation will be held at the Fedde-Helfrich-Cross Funeral Home on Monday, May 7 from 11:00 a.m.-1:00 p.m.  Funeral services will be held at the Fedde-Helfrich-Cross Funeral Home on Monday, May 7 at 1:00 p.m., Rev. Richard Young officiating.  Interment and military honors will follow at St. Paul Cemetery in Monee.  Memorials to the family would be appreciated.
