Betty Jane Hack, 87, of Augusta, Ga., formerly of Peotone, passed away Tuesday (July 29, 2014) at Westwood Extended Care in Evans, Ga.

She was born May 13, 1927, in Frankfort, the daughter of Lloyd and Muriel (Bringelson) Bisping. They preceded her in death. She married Wallace R. Hack on Dec. 10, 1944, in Peotone. He preceded her in death on Sept. 2, 2002.

Survivors include their son, Dennis (Barbara) Hack, of Grovetown, Ga.; her brother, Eugene (Jeannie) Bisping, of Elwood; sister, Donna (the late Ralph) Froehner, of Peotone; brother-in-law, George Krankoski, of Frankfort; sister-in-law, Florence Bisping, of New Lenox; brother-in-law and sister-in-law, Ronald and Marjorie Hack, of Peotone; and numerous nieces and nephews.

Preceding her in death were her parents; husband; son, Roger Hack, who passed away in 1971; brother and sister-in-law, LeRoy and Audrea Bisping; brother, Glen Bisping; and sister, Joyce Krankoski.

Betty formerly worked as a sales clerk for the H.A. Heyerman Jewelry Store in Peotone. Later, she worked food demonstrations in various grocery stores in the Peotone and Kankakee area. She was a member of the Peotone American Legion Auxiliary, Immanuel United Church of Christ in Peotone, the Immanuel Women's Fellowship and served as a Sunday school teacher. She loved to cook.

Visitation will be from 2 p.m. to 7 p.m. Sunday at Fedde-Helfrich-Cross Funeral Home in Peotone. An additional time for visitation will be from 10 a.m. Monday until the 11 a.m. funeral services at Immanuel United Church of Christ in Peotone, with the Rev. Dwight Gorbold and Nancy Wheeler officiating. Burial will be in Peotone Cemetery. Memorials may be made to Immanuel United Church of Christ.
