Bernard W. Powers

     Bernard W. Powers, age 91, of Peotone, passed away peacefully on Thursday, December 21, 2023, at Beecher Manor in Beecher, IL.

     He was born on September 4, 1932, in Chicago, the son of Nicholas and Margaret (Kesseler) Powers.  Bernard married Nancy Morrison on October 27, 1956, in Chicago.  He was a United States Air Force veteran. He was retired from Andrew Corporation and was a member of St. Paul the Apostle Catholic Church in Peotone.

     He is survived by his wife, Nancy Powers; his children, Susan (Tim) Phillips, Michael Powers, Patrick (Patricia) Powers, Mary (Mike) Joyce, and Joseph (Karla) Powers; 11 grandchildren; 4 great-grandchildren; and his sister, Lillian (the late William) Kottmeyer.

He was preceded in death by his parents; 2 sisters and brothers-in-law, Josephine (Robert) Korsvik and Dolores (David) Lang; and a brother, Edward Powers.

     Visitation will be held at St. Paul the Apostle Catholic Church, 511 N. Conrad Ave., Peotone, IL, on Wednesday, December 27, 2023, from 9:00 a.m.-10:30 a.m.  A funeral mass will be celebrated at St. Paul the Apostle Catholic Church on Wednesday, December 27, 2023, at 10:30 a.m., Father Roger Kutzner officiating.  Military honors and committal services will be held at Abraham Lincoln National Cemetery in Elwood, IL at 12:30 p.m.  Memorials may be made in his name to St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital.  Share a memory at www.feddehelfrichcrossfh.com
