Barbara Ann Koehn

Barbara Ann Koehn, age 74, of Peotone, Illinois, died on July 27, 2026, at Riverside Hospital in Kankakee. Visitation will be held at Fedde-Helfrich-Cross Funeral Home, 112 W. Main St., Peotone, IL, on Tuesday, August 4, 2026, from 4:00 p.m. to 6:00 p.m. Funeral service will be held at Immanuel United Church of Christ, 311 W. Corning Ave., Peotone, IL, on Wednesday, August 5, 2026, at 11:00 a.m. There will be additional visitation at church from 10:00 a.m.-11:00 a.m. prior to the funeral service. Burial will be at Peotone Cemetery. Memorials may be given to her church, Immanual United Church of Christ in Peotone.

Barb was born at Silver Cross Hospital in Joliet on August 2, 1951, the daughter of Harris and Kathleen (Batson) Koehn. She was educated in the Peotone schools and graduated from Peotone High School in 1969. She attended one year at Southern Illinois University in Carbondale before deciding to attend Doree School of Beauty Culture. She became a beautician and also taught beauty culture. She later earned an associate degree in Computer Science at Joliet Junior College and began her career with AT&T/Lucent Technologies. She took an early retirement offer due to her rheumatoid arthritis. She enjoyed staying in touch with family and friends, reading, watching old movies, and looking through recipes even if she had no intention of making the dishes.

She was preceded in death by her parents. She is survived by her only brother, Ronald H. (Constance H.) Koehn of Fulton, Illinois; one aunt, Rita A. Batson, of Peotone; and cousins.
