Allen L. Blogg, age 77, of Manteno, formerly of Peotone, passed away on Wednesday, February 25, 2026, at Carle Foundation Hospital in Urbana, IL.
He was born on August 4, 1948, in Joliet, IL, the son of Marvin and Betty (Denton) Blogg. He was a Peotone High School graduate where he participated with the track team. He later played in the men’s softball league in Peotone. Allen was a proud United States Army veteran serving in Vietnam. He was a member of the Peotone American Legion post 392 for over 50 years and served as post commander on two occasions. He was a very active Legion member serving on the color guard and worked at the monthly fish fries where he manned the fryer for many years. Allen was also a strong supporter of the Adopt A Soldier in Peotone. He was an avid golfer and played in the Wednesday night men’s league in Manteno. He worked for many years at Bennett Industries in Peotone where he was the plant manager. Allen was a true patriot who loved his country and family very much.
He is survived by his wife, Linda (Beck) Blogg who he married on December 31, 1993, in Peotone at Gary and Peg Skyberg’s home. He is also survived by his son, Chad (Valerie) Blogg of Marseilles, IL; 2 daughters, Breeann (Danny) Nestorovski of Lowell, IN and Lisa (Steve) Fox of Lead, SD; his grandchildren, Robert (Rebecca) Carmen, Zachary, Theresa, Joe, and Emily Fox; and Delaney, Madigan, and Emerson Nestorovski; his four brothers, Larry (Kemm) Blogg, Tom (Karon) Blogg, Duane (Karen) Blogg, and Kevin Blogg; his two sisters, Lynne (Bill) Rutter and Terri (Fritz) Cephus; and numerous nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents.
Visitation will be held at Fedde-Helfrich-Cross Funeral Home on Tuesday, March 3, 2026, from 3:00 p.m.-7:00 p.m. The Peotone American Legion service will be at 7:00 p.m. A memorial service will be held at Fedde-Helfrich-Cross Funeral Home on Wednesday, March 4, 2026, at 9:45 a.m. Interment and military honors will follow at 11:00 a.m. at Abraham Lincoln National Cemetery in Elwood, IL.
