Neva (nee Haage) Seymour, age 84, of Broken Arrow, OK, formerly of Markham, IL, passed away on Friday, March 2, 2018 at Brookdale Assisted Living in Tulsa, OK.
She was born on April 1, 1933 in Joliet, IL, the daughter of Frank and Hannah (Kaufman) Haage. She married the late Ronald “Sam” Seymour on January 26, 1952. He passed away on July 27, 2012. Early in their marriage, Mrs. Seymour worked with her husband helping with their newspaper business, cared for their children and sang in the church choir. Later in her career, she worked as a legal secretary and office manager for a law firm in Chicago for many years. She enjoyed playing tennis and bowling, but above all, she was a devoted wife, mother, and grandmother who loved spending time with her family.
She is survived by her children, Gary (Nancy) Seymour of Minooka, IL, Douglas Seymour of Springfield, IL, and Annette (Ed) Bogard of Broken Arrow, OK; daughter-in-law, Claudia Petnuch of Orland Park, IL; grandchildren, Tracie (Rodney) Golembeck, Sarah (Pat) Fanning, Maria (Brian) Key, Joseph Seymour, Gregory (Caroline) Seymour, Stuart (Brittany) Seymour, Alec Seymour, Jeffrey Bogard, and Gene Samuel Bogard; 5 great-grandchildren, and 1 great-great grandchild. She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband; a son, Gene Seymour; 2 sisters, Irma Smith and Margaret Haage; and a brother, Hans Haage.
Visitation will be held at the Fedde-Helfrich-Cross Funeral Home on Friday, March 9 from 3:00 p.m.-8:00 p.m. Funeral services will be held at the Fedde-Helfrich-Cross Funeral Home on Saturday, March 10 at 11:00 a.m., Pastor Richard Young officiating. Burial will be at Wilton Center Cemetery, Manhattan, IL.
