Main St. Peotone, IL 60468 Service Saturday, July 11, 2009 11:00 a.m. Fedde-Helfrich-Cross Funeral Home Welmer E. “Butch” Yando, age 91, of Monee, IL, passed away Tuesday, July 7, 2009 at Vitas Hospice of St James Hospital in Chicago Heights, IL. He was born in Monee on June 19, 1918 to the late Ezra and Emma (nee Dierks) Yando. He was a former farmer, police officer and factory worker. He also owned and operated his own saw sharpening business. He was a lifelong member of the Peotone Sportsmen Club, and was an avid hunter and fisherman who truly enjoyed the outdoors. He was a member of St. Paul’s United Church of Christ in Monee, IL. Mr. Yando is survived by his wife of 68 years, Bernice (nee Jacobs) Yando of Monee. He was preceded in death by his parents and 2 brothers. Visitation will be held at the Fedde-Helfrich-Cross Funeral Home on Saturday, July 11, 2009 from 9-11 a.m. with the funeral service at 11 a.m. |
