Main St. Peotone, IL 60468 Service Saturday, July 18, 2009 10:00 a.m. Fedde-Helfrich-Cross Funeral Home Albert A. Piggush, 98, of Park Forest, IL, formerly of Peotone, passed away Tuesday, July 14, 2009 at St. Margaret Mercy Hospital in Muenster, IN. He was a retired farmer. He was born December 24, 1910 in Marietta, MN to the late Ernest and Emma (Pahl) Piggush. He is survived by 2 sons; Kenneth (Janice) Piggush of South Holland, IL and Robert Piggush of Fishers, IN. He is also survived by 4 grandchildren; Brian (Charlotte) Piggush, Sharon (Warren) Birt, Philip Stoner, and Heather Stoner; several great-grandchildren, 2 brothers, Henry Piggush of Bourbonnais, IL and Edward Piggush of Bradley, IL; and 3 sisters, Margaret Kroll of Chebanse, Ella Kilpatrick of MO, and Ruby (Jerry) Strachan of Herscher, IL. He was preceded in death by his parents, his 1st wife, Gertrude (nee Schafer) Piggush (1979); 2nd wife, Viola (Mueller) Piggush (1999); daughter, Ruth Stoner; daughter-in-law, Therese Piggush; and 3 brothers, Raymond, John and Paul. Mr. Piggush was a former member of St. John’s United Church of Christ, North Peotone, and currently a member of St. Paul’s United Church of Christ in Monee, IL. He had an interest in music and was a certified by the U.S. School of Music to teach coronet in 1931. He enjoyed playing with the community band at Governors State University, was a member of the Will County Farm Bureau, and was an avid participant in square dancing. Visitation will be held on Friday, July 17, 2009 from 4-8 p.m. at the Fedde-Helfrich-Cross Funeral Home, 112 W. Main St. Peotone, IL 60468. Funeral services will be held Saturday, July 18, 2009 at 10:00 a.m. at the funeral home. Interment will be at St. John’s Cemetery, North Peotone. Memorials to the family’s wishes would be appreciated. |
