Charles E. Hager, age 84, of Peotone, passed away on Sunday, July 2, 2017 at his home.
He was born on December 4, 1932 in Hazzard, KY, the son of the late George and Opal (Clistie) Hager. He was retired from Ford Motor Company following 30 years of employment as a paint sprayer. He was also a musician playing bass for Neil Counts and the Tumbleweeds. He was an avid Chicago Bears and Cubs fan. He was a wonderful husband and father. Providing for and spending time with his family were the most important things to him.
Charles is survived by his loving wife, Karen (Murphy) Hager who he married on July 2, 1983 in Markham, IL. He is also survived by three children, Robert (Beth Anderson) Hager of Lake Station, IN, Cheryl (Todd) Michalak of New Lenox, and Benjamin Hager of Hoffman Estates; and five grandchildren, Benjamin Hager, Robert Hager, Tara Michalak, Kendall Michalek, and Kelsey Hager.
Visitation will be held at the Fedde-Helfrich-Cross Funeral Home on Wednesday, July 5 from 3:00 p.m.-7:00 p.m. Funeral services will be held at the funeral home on Wednesday, July 5 at 7:00 p.m., Rev. Cory Estby officiating. Cremation rites will be accorded following services. In lieu of flowers, memorials to the family would be appreciated.
